Brunello Favilla (2226 GmbH)
CONCEPT WITH STRAW AND EARTH

Brunello Favilla is an architect and building engineer working in architectural design, research and building energy optimisation. Brunello is a System Coordinator Engineer at 22·26 GmbH, where he leads research and development of the Zero-Net-Energy 22·26 concept.

The 22·26 principal aims to maintain indoor temperatures between 22 and 26 degree Celsius without conventional heating, cooling or mechanical ventilation.

Brunello is also a co-founder and associate of Aduna Solutions, a startup developing BIM and AI-driven software and plugins for architecture, engineering and construction.

He graduated in Building Engineering and Architecture from the University of Pisa in 2017, with a masters thesis on building energy optimisation and architectural design. Previously, he worked as a project manager at SAME architects and Baumschlager Eberle.

Sofia Arris Roucan
INDOOR AIR QUALITY

Indoor air quality is increasingly central to healthy and sustainable buildings. Recent research shows that natural materials can actively influence indoor
pollutants, from CO₂ to VOCs and other reactive compounds.

At the Université de Pau et des Pays de l’Adour, Sofia Arris Roucan investigates how earth-based materials affect indoor environments. Her work spans CO₂ regulation, the reduction of formaldehyde and other VOCs, and broader potentials such as ozone buffering and the degradation of certain pollutants.

In her lecture, she will present key findings from this research and outline how earth materials can contribute to healthier indoor spaces.
