Die Fachmesse für Museen, Denkmalpflege und Kulturgüter öffnet vom 22.-24. Januar 2020 in der Messe Bern ihre Tore für alle, die an Altbauten und historischer Substanz interessiert sind. Einige Mitglieder der IG Lehm wie Ruedi Zehnder, Stroba und Haga zeigen, wie sie mit traditionellen Materialien wie Lehm, Kalk und Holz zum Erhalt unseres Kulturerbes beitragen.

Prof. Eike Roswag-Klinge of Technical University Berlin, founder of the Natural Building Lab and shareholder of ZRS Architekten Ingenieure will give an open guest lecture and discussion on “Natural Buildings” on 16th of January 2020 from 5.15-7pm at the ETH Zurich. The lecture will take place in ETH Zentrum, CAB Building, room G51.

Der Film "Didi Contractor - Marrying the Earth to the Building" von Steffi Giaracuni über eine Lehmarchitektin und ihre Häuser in Indien ist nun online zu sehen. Ein eindrückliches Portrait einer starken Frau, die mit natürlichen Materialien – Lehm, Bambus, Schiefer und Flussstein baut und gestaltet.

Die 8. Internationale Fachtagung für Lehmbau LEHM 2020 findet vom 30. Oktober – 1. November 2020 in Weimar statt. Für die Fachtagung Lehmbau lädt der Dachverband Lehm e.v. Deutschland alle interessierten Fachkollegen ein, thematisch passende Vorträge sowie Beiträge für eine parallel laufende Postersession bis zum 10.11.2019 einzureichen.

This part-time training will start in September 2023. It is aimed at professionals who want to expand and challenge their current practice in order to steer it in a sustainable and regenerative direction. Participants will be taught how to implement Regenerative Materials in their projects with a focus on hygrothermal properties, thermal efficiency and humidity regulation. Earth and Bio-based materials offer several benefits when used in building envelopes. In this course, materials such as straw bales, hemp, wood, waste from plant harvesting, or light mixes combining Bio-based materials to mineral binders, such as clay or lime, will be analysed in detail through interactive lectures, hands-on and simulation workshops, visits of exemplary buildings and group work. Application until july 30th 2023!

This part-time training is organised during four weeks spread on one semester (fall 2022). It is aimed at professionals who want to expand and challenge their current practice in order to steer it in a sustainable and regenerative direction. Participants will be taught how to implement renewable materials in the project with a focus on hygrothermal properties, thermal efficiency and humidity regulation. High quality envelops using bio-sourced materials, as straw bales, hemp, wood or any waste from plant harvesting, or light mixes combining bio-sourced materials to a mineral binder, as lime or clay, will be analysed in detail. The participants will acquire result-oriented skills to contribute to the hygrothermal dimensioning of long-lasting buildings or infrastructures. Application until june 15th!

Lehm ohne Geologie ist nicht möglich. Die vielen Entstehungsprozesse von Lehm erschliessen sich auf wundersame Weise durch die erdgeschicht- lichen Vorgänge. Und diese offenbart uns der Geologie Roy Freeman auf den Geologischen Wanderungen der IG Lehm – etwa am 15./16. Juni am Pilatus.

Nicht nur die Untergründe auf der Baustelle des Bauernhauses in Seuzach waren sehr unterschiedlich, sondern dementsprechend auch der Umgang damit und die entsprechenden Herausforderung für die Teilnehmer. Letztlich gab es sehr viel zu lernen und erfahren und jenseits der Musterwand viele Lehm- und Kalkputzmischungen mit zahlreichen Anforderungen (dämmend, sperrend, stopfend, maschinengängig, spannungsfrei, klebend, etc).
